Texas A&M University at Qatar announces its 2018 Summer Engineering Academy, an elite, 10-day academic enrichment program designed for exceptional students who are interested in engineering and science. Outstanding faculty, researchers and technical staff from Texas A&M at Qatar’s prestigious engineering programs will guide participants through a research project related to Qatar’s grand challenges for engineering.
Participants for the Summer Engineering Academy will be selected on a competitive basis, and enrollment is limited to a maximum of 24 students, who will work closely with engineering faculty and technical staff through an intense and exciting course of activities. The Academy will run 24 June – 5 July, Sunday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., in the Texas A&M Engineering Building in Education City. Participants will be expected to complete all 10 days of the program to be eligible for awards and to earn a certificate of participation.
Academy participants should be students in grade 11 during spring 2018. Applicants should possess exceptional talent in science and mathematics in addition to versatile communication skills — the program and its activities will be delivered in English.
Successful applicants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of QAR 200 and submit a signed program authorization to be eligible for participation.
